Groundhog's Day garden plans

Groundhog’s Day garden plans

Well, Sir Walter Wally says six more weeks of winter… but considering that our winter has been an awful lot like spring, no-one is complaining. I haven’t had time to do anything even approaching gardening, but I’m actually looking forward to doing some yardwork soon. It’s so nice outside!

So, garden plans – this spring, I am focusing on more effective lettuce management. Cherry tomatoes. Banana peppers. I think I need a taller fence for the spring peas to climb. And I’ve got a bunch of spring bulbs that need to get into the ground before spring turns into summer! I’d love to get a plum tree (and a fig tree and a grape vine) in the back yard, but I’d probably need help digging the appropriate size holes.

But of course, most of this has to wait until my little garden gnomes have a Saturday free of 1) better offers (ie, movies with boys) and 2) being grounded (re grades – uh-oh!)
