A bad mood - get over it!

A bad mood – get over it!

I haven’t time or clarity of mind

to write about the tigers in my days.

I wish I had more time for art instead:

the picture of the tiger in my head

is sulking in the rain, ears down, tail down,

growling, showing teeth.  The jungle flowers

weird and tangled, vines and roots confused,

their smell too sweet and fruit too sour to eat.

The rain is too wet.  The sun is too hot.

He cannot be content with what he’s got.

I’ve been jealous, and cross, and bad tempered… and helpful and patient… and resentful… for a couple of weeks now, just about life in general.  Getting a poem down on paper actually helped a lot, though.  I try to keep the idea of “the Lady or the Tiger” in front of me.  The “Tiger” can growl on the inside all she wants, as long as the “Lady” is the one making the actual decisions in my life.
