I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m a teacher, writer, artist, and mentor; a friend, sister, aunt, and daughter. My dream is to be a mother, and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m very happy to be working with the Independent Adoption Center.\u00c2\u00a0 I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m so excited about the possibilities open adoption holds: for me, my future child, and my child\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s birthmother.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Children have always been a big part of my life.\u00c2\u00a0 I worked as a nanny all through college, ran a preschool in graduate school, and then taught middle school for ten years.\u00c2\u00a0 I loved every minute and remember every single child.\u00c2\u00a0 (I love getting summertime visits from my students, many of whom are all grown up now!) My happiest days are the ones I spend with my niece and nephew, Jaden and Kyler, and with Emily, my young neighbor down the street.\u00c2\u00a0 (She lived with me for a while and we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re still very close.)\u00c2\u00a0 I currently work in the English Department at Duke University, which is a wonderful place to be.
